Day Three

Sorry we don't have any pictures today! I promise to have them tomorrow. Today was a really hard day...especially hard for Rebekka. Here was today's schedule:

6:00 wake up and smoothie
6:30 Yoga...very restorative this morning because everyone was super sore from the hike yesterday. Rebekka starts blacking out and feeling very weak and shaky.
7:35 Breakfast: lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry sauce, yogurt, and fruit. AND scrambled eggs! It tasted like heaven. Well, like very tiny little pieces of heaven (tomorrow we'll take pictures of these portion sizes) But Rebekka kept feeling really lightheaded.
8:00 Nutrition tenants lecture. It was really interesting, but we kept almost falling asleep because we were so exhausted.
9:20-12:15 Morning hike. This hike was only 5 miles, but almost VERTICAL. Seriously the gnarliest hills. Michelle stayed in group two (the middle/second fastest group) the WHOLE time, but Rebekka had to lag behind in group three because she kept feeling dizzy, weak, and lightheaded. The leaders had to give her special electrolytes so she didn't pass out...yikes.
12:15 Lunch at lodge. Delicious quinoa, feta, and black bean salad. All the food here has been really sooooo delicious, there just isn't much of it :)
1:15-3:15 Core and strength classes. Rebekka had to sit out and totally felt like a loser becuase she still felt too shaky.
3:30-4:30 "nourishing your indulgences" seminar. Really cool.
5:00 delicious dinner...vegetable spring rolls, scallops in a creamy herb sauce, snow peas. Water, of course.
6:o0 Michelle and Rebekka sit in the hot tub for 30 minutes to soothe their aching legs.
Now it's 7:36 and Michelle is out on the second hike of the day, the night hike. Rebekka is staying behind writing this right now because she has heard that Tuesday is the most difficult day for everyone, and she is terribly worried.

We miss our families and friends and we are starving!

bekks! what the heck? please take care of yourself.....don't make me get on my soapbox about 1200 calories! absurdity! but i love you and i love random adventures too, so keep with it and you'll be home soon. Remember the perfection that is the color of autumn leaves and a perfect sunrise.....and now you know indulging in life's pleasures (like real food and lazy days) is TOTALLY worth it!

Haha...I don't think I ever had a problem with indulging in life's pleasures! It's when I'm NOT ALLOWED TO that I get shaky!

Babe, Saturday night....You can indulge in all of life's pleasure. Be encouraged. You can do it, and uh...like I can't wait to indulge in life's pleasures either. Like I need you to cook some uberdelicous food. I'm doing ok and, well definitely taking in more than even 1200 calories (go mary) but pleasurable not really. Not when compared to your cooking! Now mind over body, and go take that mountain! You can do it!

Your loving husband

First of all, Manley, you are sooo sweet and adorable...the perfect husband! Now Rebekka...remember that time i came to Nashville and you and i were going to run a 10k, but we really weren't ready for it and your body told us so the day of the race...BUT you ran a 5k anyway? You can do this, i believe in you...it sucks but you have pushed through stuff harder than this and you can get through this. Come home safe and call me as soon as you get back!

Rebekka you should give your doctor a call and tell him/her about your dizziness...it doesn't seem right to me.
It looks beautiful there. I can't wait to read today's blog!
